Playground Films was established by David Barker in 2018, the same year the company’s debut feature film, PIMPED, went into production. Over the course, Playground has produced award-winning drama, comedy, artist portraits, commercials and music videos.  Our passion is to connect with audiences through meaningful and entertaining interactions, crossing the boundaries of film, television, art, digital, music and advertising.

2025 is a brave new world for Playground, shifting all our focus toward developing and producing longform film, television and online projects. We can’t wait to show what we have in store.

Delighted to share that Austin Hayden has joined the team; an international producer across innovative film, television, online, and live theatre projects. Austin’s award-winning work has been showcased at major festivals, Cannes, TIFF, and NYFF, while his digital media projects, including on the online-first media brand Wisecrack, has reached millions worldwide. 

Soft Gaze short film, centred around a lonely cop looking for intimacy in her life, directed by Melissa Anastasi and written by Melissa and Aimee Tracton, now in the final stages of post production.
